Pochettino Says Chelsea Should Lose 2017 Premier League Title

Mauricio Pochettino believes Chelsea should be stripped of their 2017 Premier League title and that it should instead be awarded to Tottenham, who finished second that season.

Pochettino made the comments after Chelsea admitted to 74 breaches of FA rules, including £47 million in payments to unregistered agents between 2011 and 2018. The club was fined £10 million but did not receive any sporting punishment.

The former Tottenham manager argues that Chelsea should not have kept the title after admitting to breaking the rules. He believes the trophy should go to Spurs because they were the second-best team that season, finishing seven points behind Chelsea.

Pochettino also said he would make the same argument if Tottenham had been the club that broke the rules. He praised Antonio Conte’s Chelsea team for their performance but insisted that the same rules should apply to every club.

For Pochettino, the main issue is fairness. He believes allowing clubs to break rules without sporting consequences could encourage others to do the same.
